Answers
- Q1:Why must I use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher?
A1: The primary reason is that several of our applications require the use of XML data islands embedded in web pages. Only IE 5.5 and higher are capable of handling this technology. By using XML data islands, we vastly improve the performance of the web site by reducing network traffic.
- Q2:What happens if I don't use Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher?
A2: You should be able to log in to Repnet and use many of the functions provided without IE 5.5.
- Q3:How do I know my information is secure?
A3: Repnet uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to transmit your password and all data. This means that even if someone were intercepting your internet transmission, he would be unable to read the data.
- Q4:Can I access Repnet from anywhere?
A4: The short answer is yes, you can.
- Q5:How do I pick a good password?
A5: The best password is a long, random string of letters (uppercase and lowercase), numbers, and punctuation. For example: g%M51#lP0. This would be extremely difficult, bordering on impossible, for a hacker to guess. The worst passwords include any dictionary word, including words in other languages and proper names, or a number, or nothing at all.
- Q6:What if I forget my password?
A6: You may request a new password here. During business hours, we will reset your password within 30 minutes.
- Q7:How do I change my password?
A7: Once you log in, if you are located on a networked terminal at a First Investors office, you will see a link in the Repnet menu header, near your login name and real name, which you can click to change your password. The change will take effect the next time you log in.
- Q8:I don't have access to the right applications. How can I get that changed?
A8: By default, all registered representatives should have access to the ADM Information Center, Downloads, Web Sites, Training, and the following Applications: BOSS Reports, Do Not Call Database, Account Inquiry and Contact Lookup. If you are a registered representative and do not have access to these pages, contact IT Support.
